City Marshal Brian Pope booked after felony indictment

Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on Aug. 18, the day after he was indicted by a Lafayette
Parish grand jury. Pope faces two counts of perjury and three
counts of misuse of public funds related to his efforts to urge voters
to elect candidate Chad Leger in last year's campaign for Lafayette
Parish sheriff. All of Pope's legal troubles stem for his ongoing public
